I got the WiiU version.
I don´t regret buying it. It´s a fun and gorgeous game. Lots of nostalgic references, nice music, lots of unlockables and good online play.
It does have its share of problems, though . Level design sometimes is confusing... it demands practice to get used to them, but for casual multiplaying this is a nightmare.
The effect of transforming vehicles is nice, but again controls also can get a little trick, specially when you change from car or hover to planes, ruining some of the multiplayer experience.
As in my house lots of people play my WiiU, I got this most for multiplayer, and this is the only thing that made me a little dissapointed, because some of my family members can´t get the controls right. Still a few of them really enjoy the game visuals and sound, so I´ll keep this in my collection.

I personally can't wait to get a Wii U for the ability to do "single player asymetrical gaming" plus the growing 3rd party goodies. And Panarama view videos coming in the Wii U video App, and other fine functions.

I can't wait to play Ninja Castle in Nintendo Land, and Mario Kart U was said to do more with the GamePad controller then the Handhleds have done with the bottom screen and more then just motion control........can't wait for E3 2013 to show us something.
