Imagine for a moment, if you will that Sony and Microsoft had the first party franchises that Nintendo owns, would they want as many third parties as that get now on their systems?? No, I didnt think so either because the video game industry, as many people often forget, is a business and these companies want to make more money. Nintendo isnt as depend on third party studies like the other two are, and us don't need to have as much third party support. Having this discussion is kinda of pointless and the people trying to make this argument again the Wii U dont have much of a leg to stand on.
