Capcom has today released the first official screenshots of its PlayStation 2 port of Okami for the Nintendo Wii. Unfortunately they’re a little (read: ‘very much) on the small side, but frankly we’re just pleased to see them at all, as no doubt many gamers will be too.

In Okami, players assume the role of the wolf-embodied sun god Amaterasu to set the world straight after the legendary monster Orochi has come back to life and turned it into a wasteland. The action-adventure title was originally released for the Sony PlayStation 2 in 2006, but despite great critical reception it hardly sold by the bucket load, so perhaps Capcom’s decision to bring it to Wii will be more fruitful.

Okami is currently scheduled for release in North America on March 25.
