I would say no, because it causes a shitstorm and is going to be a slow process.

The U.S. should be worrying about other more pertinent things. Like a balanced budget that cuts government spending. Than playing politics accusing Obama of not shooting skeet, and then obama showing him a picture of a shotgun.

imo anyways.

What about other countries? Canada's gun ownership rate is much lower then USA.

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking.

But I don't know enough about the political situation in Canada or other Countries, to say anything educated in that regard. Guns, and imo taking away existing rights is always a tricky situation. Even if there is unbiased data to back it up.

Oh, well I'm Canadian. Guns don't really make sense here. Only 3% the population of Toronto (The 5th largest city in North America) even carry a handgun. Why not ban it outright? We clearly don't seek protectionwith weapons here.

I only get protest from the USA, never heard another fellow Canuk disagree with me about banning guns.

Obviously, you can't remove guns outright, you take it one step at a time. A long time ago, before Canada formed and we were still British Colonies, we had simialr gun ownership laws and restrictions as you did. How come now only 200 years later (Canada is younger), are semi-automatic rifles banned here, gun ownership rates significantly lower then in the USA, and there are talks about banning handguns all together (This is why I voted Liberal - Your Democrat).

So does the USA really need semi-automatic rifles?
