No. It captured the world's imagination because it had teh gamez. That's the reason.

I honestly don't care about controller "innovation". People who want that can buy a Wii U or a Kinect. I want a system that innovates in terms of software, that lets the games themselves shine, not that forces developers into a new format. Mouse+keyboard isn't broken, standard controllers are not broken. They're still around because they're damn good at what they do, which is allow players to interface with videogames. It bloody works and it works well. I want a system that is a canvas for traditional videogames. That's what I hope the PS4 ends up being.
