well once all your friends have 360 you're not gonna buy a PS3!

Personally, I don't care what my friends have; I got a Gamecube when they had PS2s, (bought a PS2 later for Shadow of the Colossus) and I went Wii60 when they had PS3s. (Cos hey, I can just play PS3 when I'm at their place... ;) )

I don't place a lot of value on online gaming communities and the like, I'm a single player/local multiplayer kind of guy. When I play with friends, it's in the same room, on their console or mine.

But I'm also a weird old fart in this world where everyone seems to be addicted to Xbox Live or PSN+, so I have no doubt I'm an obsolete and dying breed... XD

well like you said that is unusual given COD and Halo numbers (online centric games although Halo less so).  Also PSN+ and live are completely different addictions.  I'm addicted to Plus yet have played SP games from it only.  I mean RE5 (co-op I guess), Darksider, Walking Dead, Infamous 2, etc. all feed my SP wants in between releases.  Not to mention so many people bought PS360 for multiplats this gen that being less expensive helped 360 a lot this gen especially in NA where GT isn't as popular and Uncharted didn't get popular till later in the gen (U2 in 09).  Halo and Gears and being less expensive (as well as early) got 360 a 15m lead in NA.  I don't see Sony botching it even worse than they did this gen.  They have a lead in Europe despite being even LATER than the other territories and being more expensive so their lead there is probably smaller than it will be this coming gen.  It's just logic that if they don't make this MONUMENTAL compilation of errors (more expensive and late should be tombstone for any console) they will do better marketshare wise next gen.

Well, I should add that I live in Australia, not the US, my point was I didn't buy what my friends did. XD

I agree that the PS4 will probably be a lot less mismanaged than the PS3 was in its early years, Sony should have learned to launch around the same time as the Nextbox and at a reasonable price point.
