As far as I know, I do not really loathe Sony to the core but still I can't help but feel extremely disappointed and upset about how they arrogantly set this whole "graphics rush" throughout the last generation. I do not know when everything started to turn out like a horrible critic mess which empoisoned the whole gaming journalistic community and gave them a fake image of what a game should be about. It wasn't like that before. It wasn't that graphic-centred and bombastic as a whole, feeding gamers with spectacular sequences which are designed to impress in general but hinder the true meaning of what a gaming experience must deliver: crisp gameplay. Graphical, musical and art direction cohesion to reach a goal. Not to imitate reality as much as possible.

Most experiences this generation disappointed me, just as many of my diehard nostalgic friend gamers, because gaming has mostly lost its way. That's what feeds Sony and Microsoft's arrogance and thirst for money making, searching for the best deals, the "hey look I got a 4 months exclusivity for this game" or "hey look I got DLC". It's like music industry all over again: putting money all over the image, videoclips, selling a decent amount of tasteless, lifeless singles and coming back the other year with something new because it has already faded in people's minds, when in fact everything is rotten to the core and becomes no timeless. Everything in the gaming industry becomes so fast-consuming-throwing, making people whiny graphic whores, blunts which are jaded by the consuming circle, whose always looking for better and better high-end graphics, spoiled children that ditches Nintendo's different way of thinking and making my gaming experience even worse with time.

I cannot play New Super Mario Bros. Wii without ending with comments like "wow, this is no HD, this is so not really impressive". Like impressive = no fun... -__- This whole new standard is making me sick, turning people into annoying fanboys, picky gamers (some don't even appreciate the older N64, SNES games just because of the graphics...)

So in fact yes, I have Sony very much for ruining the industry.
