Reasonings:

* Microsoft: They are the Borg, and threaten to take everything over.  They don't have a background in videogames, and really don't understand them.  RROD!

* Sony: They are arrogant.  They killed off Sony, complete with the brigade of smirking come lately fanboys who think the videogame industry started with what Sony did.  They are also like Microsoft in that they don't have a background in videogames.

* Nintendo: Kiddie game designers, who refuse to develop and promote mature stuff and release consoles that barely advance over what is now.

And that is the core of the arguments against each of the companies, minus some other elements I forgot.

Once again, the thread isn't about justifying the hate, but questioning why it's hate at all. Microsoft tends to try to set up a monopoly. When it comes down to it, that's understandable - it's the most profitable situation to be in. When they use some bad business practices to try to enforce it, it bites them in the arse, so I'm not too worried. Sony may be arrogant, but pride comes before a fall, and we've seen that a few times - it resolves itself. Nintendo do tend towards less... serious topics in their games, but given the excess of seriousness in games recently, that's probably keeping a balance on the industry; and their relatively weak hardware is coupled with innovative hardware elements. Note that there are upsides for Sony and MS, too - it's just that they're a little less directly related to the downsides.

Part of the process of stripping the hatred is to recognise that they all have their strengths and their weaknesses, and that an industry that is more diverse works better for everyone.
