The FPS clones of today will finally meet the same fate as the pong clones.
They tried copy Pong.
Now they try to be COD.
1983 all over again. (Though the chances of this happening are pretty low, shooters could live off the U.S alone for a good 10+ years)
There are not enough "bridge titles" in the industry. Things that lure casuals in and convert them into regular videogame consumers. Rather the current state of the industry repels new people (just look at the image of a gamer). For example, I was a Wii convert (no not a GCN one, it was actually the Wii and Halo.) But I'm sure my breed is rare. The industry is kind of stagnating, we have no way to really pull in new audiences. Wii tried that, it couldn't keep most (Again I'm an exception.)
Anyway if the WiiU ever did win (Though I doubt it) It would prove that the industry's current course is a bad one.
