What...? Mass Effect series has won multiple awards. It is critically and commercially aclaimed franchise. So raising such point questioning its gameplay in general doesn't make much sense. You could say that you are not into shooters or third person cover based shooters with rpg elements in this case but outright questioning the gameplay of a game soley based on previous game the company made with different gameplay just doesn't fit well. I just wanted to point that out. You could say that it is third in the series and the fanbase hasn't experienced the storyline and universe prior to this. Thus, they are skeptical about investing their time and money into the game as they might not get the full story experience. |
I was speaking subjectively. WRPGs don't do much to interest me, no, but BioWare's style of D&D-esque gameplay really felt like pulling teeth sometimes, personally.
Although you are correct that I could be being unfair. BioWare's matured as a company since KOTOR, so perhaps ME is better polished in gameplay than what i experienced with their earlier works (Sonic Chronicles was actually okay).
It's not even an issue about getting the full story experience, it's about the fact that nobody who owned anything capable of playing the Trilogy edition would have wasted their time buying ME3 for Wii U, because it just makes no sense.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.
