Well I can't say anything right now because we know so little about PS4/720 but I do have a feeling Sony have learned from their mistake with the PS3.

If it's:

1) Cheaper than PS3
2) Easier to develop for (no inferior ports)
3) Has some big launch games from big franchises as well as new IPs

I'm sure it will do very well.

^ This. Its obvious how they stuffed up with the ps3 and without doubt they will avoid those same pitfalls again. I expect the console to do much better than the ps3, though not necessarily as well as the ps2.
