Not even close. Kinect did more for 360 sales than Modnation Racers, PSASBR, MAG, Demon's Souls and InFamous did for PS3 combined. You could probably also throw LBP or Motorstorm in there.

Could throw in move with there too probably . This late new IPs do jack shit for console sales, at the start, maybe, but the price is the most vital aspect that makes or breaks consoles sales, as is evident in the case of lately released hardware, most of which barely scrapes by until pricecuts hit, which I think will be the case for both new Xbox and ps, no matter how strong the console is. People that do buy stuff like this are a minority, and everyone seems to keep forgetting that the west are tightening their belts on spending right now, buying a next gen console they would see a unnecessary when the old ones are still supported would be unnecessary spending.

 

And those who are actually worried about any new IPs seem to be the large majority of ps3 fans, had 360 for 5 years now and never really complained about it, as the third party support is outstanding as it is.
