Yeah, but Futurama constantly has CGI in parts of the show, and so does Family Guy. But their CGI is the obvious kind since their paying money to be notice in 2D.
And then there's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (Nickelodeon) & Transformers Prime & Star Wars Clone Wars (the CGI one).
It seems as long as they don't put any polygons, then it is very cheap, which explains the eShop game: "Liberation Maiden" with it's pure CGI Cinematics (wish more of it had 3D on).
