Kinect 2 doesn't need to compete with WiiU - WiiU is a non-contender. Kinect 2 (and the other stuff MS is rumoured to have in the works) will be every important in fighting the tablet market. Offering a compelling experience that tablets will never have - period. (opposed to experiences that tablets half-ass but half-ass for next to nothing -ie: Call of Duty, sports) and to distinquish itself from PS4.
720 with Kinect + multimedia will be a lot easier sell to the wife/gf or parents than PS4 or even WiiU.
