Makes sense. It frustrated me (and still does) to see games that would be perfectly suited to Wii's motion controls instead made only as 3DS games. Pilot Wings Resort, Starfox 64 remake and Luigi's Mansion 2 are all games that should have been on Wii as well.
Going forward, if both 3DS/WiiU or their next gen equivilents have dual screens then it makes sense to share games the way PS3 and Vita do now.
I guess the next Super Smash Bros might be the first such game Nintendo does.
