That's good that they finally announced an ios device with 128gb of storage. This temporary model is just so they can get the option out there. Apple still has a lot of 16gb models already produced, so it makes sense to have this extra premium for now. Hopefully this means that they'll eliminate the 16gb option in the future and use the 32/64/128gb options instead at the same pricepoints.
Memory is getting cheaper so it makes sense to increase the storage amount in devices. Most Android manufacturers are slowly eliminating sd card slots, so more onboard storage is a must. I thought the Nexus 4 looked good, but being limited to 8gb and no sd card slot is a total deal breaker. 8gb is terribly small. Hell I have a 64gb micro sd card in my psp and that card was much cheaper than a 32gb Vita card! (Are you listening Sony?)
Anyway, more storage at the same pricepoints will be good especially if they do it in time for the iPad 5 release.
