I don't think anyone could seriously argue that PS+ isn't a good value to gamers but the jury is still out on if it's good for the industry. For example we're probably only reaching the point where we'll see its impact on new and used game sales.

What's the point of everyone copying it if it leads to a decline in game sales, especially initial sales of AAA games when they have their best chance of making a large amount of money? Because if it does you'll see even more stores folding and even less AAA games with the remaining ones having to play it even more safe with less variety.

It would have been interesting to watch its affect on Vita considering that system's small installed base but it will probably be impossible to accurately gauge PS+'s affect since Sony will probably without giving us any real meaningful information. If the third party situation completely collapses on it we won't know how much of that is due to PS+.
