I agree that throwing the WiiMote in there seemed like some after-thought. I always thought it was ridiculous for Nintendo to try to get us using the WiiMote again this generation when they already have a new controller, one that is pretty interesting to use. Maybe Nintendo's new flagship will be the WiiMote? Hopefully not...
