It's hard to know a game is awesome until you play it. Xenoblade's release so late in the Wii's life - and only after pleading from fans - really hurt it. I mostly gave up playing Wii a while back because I find the SD visuals look terrible after playing in HD. When I say the game reminds me of FFX, I mean that as the highest compliment as FFX is among my absolute favorite games of all time. It's a different game, but it is comparable in visuals, music, unique setting, sense of adventure and a starring character who is both part of the story but also good at being the player's window to the world. Other games I feel it draws from are FFIV(style), WoW(combat) and Halo(setting,visuals). It is also a totally unique experience in its own right. I also like that there is lots of loot to fully equip, and that character appearence is changed by equipment - something that FF often lacks. |
