I think that after Resistance and CoD Sony decided not to put any kind of time pressure on them. I mean, at this point the next FPS finally has to be a good one. Delaying it for even 3 months will hurt the Vita less than KZ becoming another game that every gamer launghs at. |
Nihilistic was strange...Sony needed some games and they have way more insight about the development of titles than we do. Chances are the Vita SKU's didn't get to devs early enough, or they were too busy making other games, or they hit a bottleneck early on in Vita development and had to troubleshoot it loosing some valuable time. Resistance probably had a decent development time, but it is Nihilistic, and Sony really wanted that game out. Then Nihilistic started working for Activision.... They probably used plenty of Resistance assets to churn out that game in 5 months. If they had a few more months that could have produced a possible gem, something better than their Resistance. Activision really only wants to release around the holidays, if only they were able to time Resistance this holiday, then Call of Duty next holiday or added a second dev team and had them work on both games for holiday release the moment they started developing Resistance. But you know, crap.
I wonder after Vita started to show sales trouble what games Sony started development on that are slated for 2014.
Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(
