Although i did not finish it, I absolutely love FFXII. The political/war story really kept me going and the judges were absolute badasses. The main characters were alright and even Vann was a pretty chill protagonist (although idk who the fuck designed his clothing) I got about 28 or 38 hours in when I had to give my borrowed copy back to my cousin and I don't think he still owns it. The fact that romance had very little to do in the story was also a big plus. I hate sappy love stories in my RPGs. They literally make me gag, although I still enjoyed FFX from start to finish.
Second best would be the FFVII saga. Crisis core was an amazing game and probably my favorite from all FFVII Lore because of the huge untold story and new characters added into the game.
