Well, I've watched 5 hours of walkthrough on YouTube and I think it looks like a better JRPG than FFXIII and FFXIII-2 combined. It has like 10 HD towns and loads of optional areas that can explore in any order. You can also have like 20 party members during battle. Epic! The story may be garbage, but that's not what I play JRPGs for. |
Beeing better than FFXIII is not dificult. The battles are a bit random in how they work, the towns have loads screens all over the place, the story i dont know cause i got way too bored to keep going.
JRPG's are totally about the story though. Thats why they tend to be linear.
Seriously, you're not missing anything. You have a PC, i think the game is out for PC aswell. Get that version and you'll see. You will waste less money aswell.

Funny enough, I actually don't play JRPGs for the story. I play them for the sense of adventure and exploration and the battle systems and character customization systems. That's why I love FFXII so much despite some people hating it because they didn't like the story. Heck, my avatar is the most hated male character in 3D Final Fantasy.
Anyway, I'm a huge fan of Monster Hunter and that has absolutely zero story. Actually, I think Super Mario Bros. on the NES has more story than Monster Hunter. LOL! I think I will enjoy The Last Remnant as long as it has a vast world to explore, a deep battle system and loads of customization option and items to collect.
I would like to try t on PC but I found out it's Steam exclusive. I hate Steam. As a result, it's PS3 or bust. |

I've put 200 hours into it. I'm still waiting for the JRPG equivalent to that in world scale. FFXII came close but isn't even a quarter as big as Skyrim.
