Apocalypto springs to mind, I just love the whole style and feel of the movie. Most people I know hated it because of a rather lackluster plot and the somewhat strange dialogue.

I love that film for its vivid depiction of a society in the throes of self-destruction. The transition from idyllic jungle life to the madness, slaughter, disease, and environmental devastation of "civilization" is superb.

Yeah, and I love the between a rock and a hard place metaphor in the ending when the Spanish arrive on the shore. Overall, its a great movie from a symbolic and cinematographic perspective, in my opinion.
