That's what some of you people still fail to realise:
There may or may not have been better rpgs than XIII and I may even agree but that is subjective and not the point.
The point is that there were barely any jrpgs that were more relevant than FF XIII at that particular point in time.

The comparison between Final Fantasy in general and Monolith's X or XC is pointless and just another excuse to talk about the "fall" of FF, ignoring facts like how console/j rpgs peeked and died years ago.
Not the most ridiculous comparison though, that was FF XIII and Resonance of Fate, just plain ignorant.

FF X-2 and FF XIII-2 were both very successful considering they are far smaller productions than X and XIII respectively and that they are not numbered entries. And with all due respect you pulled that stuff about Toriyama out of your behind.
