Racing Transformed is certainly not sales competition for Mario Kart, but it sets the bar for kart racing on Wii U, and it does so by improving upon Nintendo's own game. If Nintendo iterates from Mario Kart 7 (as they likely would have if it hadn't been for Sega's game), they would wind up with a game startlingly similar to Racing Transformed.
Some interesting ideas being thrown around. Those who want to remove all the "gimmicks" and focus on balance and stuff -- don't you think that's more regular racing territory? As a kart racer, aren't the gimmicks and silliness part of the appeal to begin with?
