Don't worry about that, Wii U seems to be a failure and it affects other next gen consoles only positively.

I really dont think so. I think we might be seeing a lost of interest in videogames. If Sony or Microsoft (or both) can create interest in their new consoles, things might turn around. But if they dont create any interest, it may be hard times for videogames!

So what could have happened over the last few years for that to happen?...I´m not so sure that´s truly the case, we can say the economy because it´s first time the industry is caught in such rough times, there wasn´t a global crisis with the magnitude of the one that started in 2008 back in the 80s, 90s, early 2000s...  but a lack of interest in videogames?..I mean it´s definitely possible, of course, but I wouldn´t go there just yet.
