My response to that is, "Do you really need all of your VC games playable on the Gamepad? How many of them do you really play that often to justify spending your hard-earned dollar bill on for a few extra features that don't effect gameplay one bit? I bet most NES games people downloaded and played once or twice, then completely forgot about.

Think of the upgrade like DLC, and it completely makes sense.

I completely agree with you. I personally only planning to pay $1 for the couple of VC games I always play (FF VI and Mega Man 9), for the rest I will just use the Wii mode.
