There are a variety of things that influences people's minds some are just more easily swayed then others. If that kid was fed with non-violent games, he might have not done so. But since it's impossible to enforce that, I think all we need is a better way to convey to the buyers that the game is graphic, violent, and contains inapporpriate messages.

The M-rating holds 0 influence over here, more it's shown as a sign of approval, it has to be violent enough to get an M or it won't sell, and that's what has to change.

Which is why I like the PEGI rating of a giant red 18 over a black and white M.
