Japan is only irrelevant because they've gone from being Japan to trying to satisfy the west. If the Japanese stay Japanese the west will buy their games. They don't need MS either. Sony and Nintendo take up quite a bit of their time. Why should the Japanese give a shit about an outsider console that is almost exactly like their home console?
