38. Master and commander: The far side of the world, 2003, Peter Weir
This movie rightfully won an Oscar for best sound editting. It is the most immersive movie I know when it comes to surround sound. All the noises of the ship, people walking on the deck above you, the wind hitting the sails, it all feels real. As far as life on a frigate goes, everything looks authentic too. The story never disappoints either with some clever tricks and twists.
