Now I"ll try to find out what was so amazing about Nintendo direct.I've only heard about games everyone knew that they would be released on wii u anyway. |
Nintendo Direct was good... but you are right to say mostly it revealed games that people already expect. The games with footage shown however, were looking spectacular, so any gamer should be salivating over that stuff.
As for whether Wind Waker "remaster" is a system seller... it sure would be for Zelda enthusiasts. I doubt all the Zelda enthusiasts which made the Wii launch a success have picked up Wii U yet. Remember the Wii launched with Zelda Twilight Princess and Wii Sports... sales of both together put demand in the news and caused even more public awareness primarily focused on Wii Sports.
Also, please don't confuse "remaster" with HD port... very different level of effort and possibly vast difference between original and "remastered". MGS games HD collections were HD ports... the Silicon Knights developed version of MGS-Twin Snakes was a "remaster" of the PSOne classic on Gamecube. The Resident Evil version of PSOne classic on Gamecube was a "remaster".
Anyway, for me personally... Ninja Gaiden 3 - Razor's Edge was enough to justify buying the Wii U but as with any gaming hardware, that single game isn't my only benefit. I also got to play and enjoy Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros U, and bunch of other titles on the system already in addition to Razor's Edge.
I am an enthusiast for Ninja Gaiden... bought original Xbox for it... bought the PS3 when Ninja Gaiden Sigma went to it. Bought Xbox 360 when Ninja Gaiden 2 went to it. Bought the PS-Vita when it launched with Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus.
A gamer should view "value" in terms of time spent and enjoyed... not money spent. What difference does it make if you already own Wind Waker for Gamecube but never play it... but if you buy the remaster on Wii U and play that for 20-30 hours and really love it then I would say you got value.
Have you never bought a Blu-Ray for a movie you already watched or maybe even own on DVD? If not bought... then rented the HD version of it? Same principal applied to games.
