Platinum Games Shows Interest In The Darksiders Franchise

Platinum is a third party - if Platinum's interested in Darksiders its a good thing cause the series deserves to continue but it doesnt guarantee that Darksiders would become an exclusive o.O (that is unless no one else is willing to pay to publish it).

So why does someone else have to publish the game?  Why can't platinum publish it themselves?  If they are interested in buying darksiders, then wouldn't they be interested in publishing it as well?

Looking at Platinums games, it looks like their only publisher in the past has been Sega on basically every game until recently NIntendo doing the most recent two.  Konami did one  in there. 

So since Sega didn't buy Darksiders, and they did buy some THQ stuff, they must not be interested. who do you guys think Platinum will get to publish darksiders if they do indeed buy it?

You have to hire people in other markets to publish the game. For instance platinum would have to hire an english translation, uhh german translation team etc, marketing people in many countries, It's more economically feasible to just get other publishers to support their small game output. For instance Crytek doesn't publish their own games either. 

Konami's also publishing MGS; rising.

I don't think platinum necessarily would or want to buy and support vigil. I'd think theyd want to buy the IP and make the game themselves.
