"If you're not a Nintendo fan, there's nothing here."

I don't know what the hell you were expecting from a 100% first-party Nintendo Direct they themselves branded "Wii U Direct -- Nintendo Games."

Geez, I could've told you there wouldn't be anything there for non-Nintendo fans yesterday.

Maybe you weren't listening when Iwata said, "We will find a separate opportunity soon to provide more information about the effort of our third-party publishers on Wii U."

I don't know what you mean by "If you're not a Nintendo fan," either. What is that supposed to mean? I guess there wouldn't be anything here for you if you dismiss Fire Emblem just because it's made by a subsidiary of the same company that makes Mario; if you dismiss Monolith Soft's game because it's made by a subsidiary of the same company that makes Yoshi. These games have nothing to do with one another. By all accounts, if you like JRPGs, you should be all about these games, whether you consider yourself a "Nintendo fan" or not. If you like adventure games, you should be all over Zelda, regardless of your loyalty or lack thereof to Nintendo. Grouping those series together just because they have the same publisher makes absolutely no sense.
