The key part is that, if you can see the terrain in this game, you can get there, which is not something the other games can offer. If you played Xenoblade, you'd know that if you see a really high pillar floating in the sky, there is a way to get there and you'd see it from really far away, I'm willing to bet that this is the same whereas the vistas you see in your mentioned games don't really offer that.
