My opinion on Wii U's potential has changed but the game line-up is still lacking for my personal tastes. I understand how this line-up can be seen as awesome for many people but just not me.

First off, I finally realize the potential of the Gamepad. I always looked at it as "well that's kinda cool" but never noticed how it is unique until today. Below are my reasons:

1) Gamepad-only play. I always knew it was possible and that launch games such as Mario U could already do this but it never seemed all that useful until now. I think its because I'm used to games like 2D Mario already on Handhelds so it didn't seem too special. After finding out that a game like Wind Waker HD can be played without the T.V it became more of a "wow" for me.

2) Baseball & Soccer from Wii Party U. I never thought of the Gamepad being used in such a way as that. It didn't use the T.V at all, was still multi-player focused, and looked like a really fun way to pass time in a way that isn't possible on any other System.

Overall, I never looked at the Wii U as being too innovative but I'm starting to change my opinion on that. While I think Motion controls were definitely more revolutionary and changing for the industry. For me personally, the Gamepad looks just as innovative if not more than Motion controls. I was definitely impressed in terms of System capabilities.

Now in terms of games I wasn't nearly as impressed. Again, it will definitely make many people excited but not me in particular. I am tired of Mario as a whole. I am no longer interested in 2D Mario, 3D Mario, Mario Kart, Mario Party, Mario Sports, Paper Mario or any other "Mario" games. Why? Well, I think I've just been over-exposed to the Mario universe. I have been playing Mario games since the N64 days and it is getting stale to me personally. Yes, all of the games I mentioned are significantly different from each other in terms of Gameplay and graphics. At the same time they share similar settings and characters. I might go back to Mario eventually but at this time I don't plan on buying a single "Mario" game on Wii U. (If I get one) Yoshi U, while totally different from Mario, still has common characters such as Shy Guy, I will have to know more about the game before disregarding it. The graphics look amazing but I hope that's the only thing it has in common with Kirby's Epic Yarn. If it has baby Mario in it... (Please no!!!)

Mario takes a big chunk out of Wii U's line-up. They also announced 2 Zelda games. I was never a big fan of Zelda so I don't plan on picking either of them up either.

I also don't like the RPG games so count out Fire Emblem and project X.

Anyway for me, the only game announced today that I would buy if I got a Wii U would be Wii Party U & maybe Yoshi U.

Lastly, I'm not sold on Wii U yet and am still waiting until E3 to see which Next-Gen System I want.
