Even with NSMBU and Mario Kart U both at launch, Nintendo wouldn't have hit their hardware forecasts for the fiscal year, because the known upcoming games were so few and the release schedule after launch so thin. |
You're just saying it's pointless, but I specifically said that the DS didn't have huge buildup, like the U. So what is it in this case that makes it pointless, I'm all ears.
I agree that Mario Kart would have also struggled at U launch, also given the fact that MK 7 just came out on 3DS there would in parallel be some massive cannibalisation.
Wii Sports U would've done the trick, maybe. Long story short nothing would have done it, but my fatigue argument still applies by virtue of the fact that it released way too close to the last 2 entries.
