it was certainly a good showing overall. some things were certainly obvious. i could have predicted a mario kart even before the wiiU was announced but it is nice to know what will be sooner than later. the worst part of the show for me is the conspcious absence of anything 3rd party. no GTAV, no bioshock, no dark souls2, no what-have-you. i never feared nintendo would bring a handful of great games a year but i buy at least 30 a year and no third party means i'll likely regret a wiiU purchase as much as i did my wii in the long run. nintendo support will, as usual, dry up in a few years as they prep for their next console launch (likely the successor to the 3DS) leaving nothing left if third parties don't show. that's not a mistake i want to make again. |
In terms of Nintendo support, the Wii only failed in 2012. Other than that, it was just as awesome as the gamecube in terms of 1st party, if not more varied.
