As a Nintendo fan I'm happy.
From a sales POV, I don't see this being as much of a home run though.
Nintendo seems really, really hesitant to really break away from the safety blanket of existing IP.
Everything looked like a straight forward sequel to remake of past titles, the only really "new" concept I saw in this presentation was the 2-player single Wii U tablet mini-games in Wii U Party, which has been done on the iPad already I think.
They need something new and fresh to break out if they want to sell systems in a real way, but they seem to want to stick to old formulas very closely. Platinum Games seems to be the only one bringing something really different and a bit unexpected (even Bayonetta 2 I guess feels "fresh" because you wouldn't expect it on a Nintendo platform).
That said .... if you do like core Nintendo IP, then Wii U looks fine for 2nd half 2013 onwards. But I think this will be a lot like a GameCube 2.
