Honestly? Werent the ones on the DS enough for you (they had 2D gameplay but 3D'ish graphics)? Cause they totally destroyed Zelda on the DS for me. The other thread with a poll revealed that 80%+ of people want a 3D zelda. 2D zelda,sorry to say, is quite boring and has limited exploration and combat. The last original release of a full 2D zelda - minish cap - sold the worst of all new zelda entries (not counting those in the CDi). Move on.
Personally, i think that a new 3D zelda is the only icying in the cake they can do at this point. Though lets not forget, they will probably reveal the SSB sequal.
