How about this one?
"When asked, Kawata then explained that the decision was made a long time ago to bring Resident Evil 5 to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms. As a result, Capcom is still contemplating whether or not they can or will port the game to Wii. He noted that sales of Resident Evil 4 and Umbrella Chronicles will ultimately determine the decision."
I recall it having been said more than once, but it's not easy to find a quote when you don't remember the wording of it. The point is, Capcom pretty explicitly said that the sales of RE4 and RE:UC were going to be how they would decide whether or not the Wii should get a version of RE5. Both games sold quite well, and what did we get? About 8 months after RE5 was released on PS3 and 360, the Wii got RE:DC. And Capcom then declared that, because it didn't sell a million copies in its first week, "gamers have deserted the Wii". Of course, it went on to nearly break a million copies, despite not being what gamers really wanted (they wanted another game like RE4).
