!. We both could be wrong, for now I sill side with the general concensus. The Nature vs. Nurture debate strongly favors nature, and I'll believe what the scientists believe as I think they are the most educated on the subject.

2. No it doesn't and what you're saying is obvious. However there is no place in the world void of homosexuality. So are you saying that there isn't enough diversity in the world for one environment to exist which doesn't have the factors which lead to homosexuality? There is no 1 population (small representable group of people) in the world which isn't homosexual despite all of our cultural, social, family, and geographical variation?

3. It was agreed upon by whom? I haven't read a single scientific article which claims gay people are gay because it's their preference. Many gay people wish to be heterosexual and feel ashamed when first discovering their condition. Every gay person in this debate has mentioned a period of self loathing or disrespect. If it was just a matter of preference, one could easily mate with someone who isn't their type could they not? Many gay people just have no attraction to people of the opposite gender, if it's just preference, this makes no sense.

1. You must not know what a concensus means.

2. Are you trying to assert that just because a condition is caused by environmental factors, that means somewhere in the world, that condition would not exist? What is this logic based on? You could say the same thing about any preference which is caused by environmental factors. Just because they're environmental factors doesn't mean there should be one place where that preference doesn't exist.

Let's look at this sentence you said here:

"So are you saying that there isn't enough diversity in the world for even one (even just a single) environment to exist which doesn't have the factors which lead to homosexuality?"

There is no "one environment." That doesn't make sense. Every person in the world experiences different environment factors. There is always complex differences in how everyone experiences the world.

As for this:

"There is no 1 population (small representable group of people) in the world which isn't homosexual"

Do you have a link to back this up? Or are you just making random guesses.

3. Yes, it's a preference. That's why it's called sexual preference. Are you screwing with me or have you not heard of the term sexual preference? Gay people prefer people of their own sex. Straight people prefer people of a different sex. You seem to be implying that all preferences are conscious choices. That's simply not the case.

1. I will side with the concensus among scientists (what most scientists agree on). I dunno what the general concensus is, I don't pay attention to politics. We have enough ticks in this world already.

2. I am claiming that the world is diverse enough to find an environment where homosexuality does not exist. Yes, with a large enough population (sample size) there odds are that somewhere there should be such a location.

Cleared it up. As for a homosexual free environment, I have never heard of one. If there was one, then...... Actually whose side would this arguement favor more? LOL

3. It's called sexual orientation too. Anyone can use any term to define if you're homosexual or not. I mean for heavens sake, gay actually means "happy." Just because people started calling homosexuals gay, does that mean that homosexual is just another word for happy then?

I don't agree with the arguement that homosexuality is just a matter of preference. I have not read a single credible scientific paper which banished psychological and biological sources to homosexuality and says "it's a matter of preference."

Say homosexuality was a matter of preference, based on what you grew up thinking is sexy. This should be curable with a psychiatrist on in a clinic like sex addiction can be. Can it? I haven't heard of this.

If it can, then I have no problem with homosexuality because there is a cure. Homosexuals who want to be heterosexuals would just need to see a therapist once a week for life.

Anyway, in the end, we disagree. Does it matter? I don't hate gay people, I think it's a disorder they were born with, but we don't choose what were born with. Like you've argued against me, why do I care what sexual orientation people are if it doesn't affect me? Well why do you care that some people view homosexuality as a biological (or maybe psychological) disorder?

I think the only reason homosexuality was removed from the DSMIII was because of popitical pressure. Because of this any work on studying homosexuality is extremely difficult because any results published which condone homosexuals in any way immediatly gets labeled as "hate." I'm just going to stick with scientists, I have no care for media, and politics.
