Wii owners, is it our fault that the Wii U isn't getting better third party support?

The consumer cant really be blamed, because the Wii consumer bought games. Lots of games. Its just the type of games they bought werent necessarily the blockbuster... They were the preschool party game.

Its a double edged sword. With huge success they also segregated a huge part of the market.

I agree with everything but the bolded. THey were not blind, they just didnt care. Games like RE are still way more expensive to produce than something like Just Dance, HD or not. And the JD game would sell way more. Simple math, which game would you rather make for Wii, it wont be RE. They didnt get big titles because the damn Wii couldnt run them, its that simple. No wonder you never saw a AC game for Wii but a butt load of JD games. There not gonna spend money to downgrade a game on Wii knowing that most people are just going to get the PS360/pc version anyway, it would just be a waste of money.  And i wish people stop using RE4 as some shining example, its not. It was a BUDGET port released early in the systems life. It was just Capcom trying to squeeze more money out of the game, it wasnt even like it was the best selling version.

But it showed the market was there. They could have made Resident Evil: Revelations (for instance) for the Wii, and it probably would have sold better than the 3DS game. The market is clearly there, and people like that experience better on a console; ergo, more money for Capcom.

RE4 proved that an audience was there, which was the point of Carl's post.
