It is a self fulfilling prophecy. If the major reason why people buy Nintendo consoles is because of Nintendo games then third parties just aren't going to find as receptive an audience as on other platforms. The fact remains that people buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games and Nintendo makes Nintendo consoles mainly as a way to sell Nintendo games.
