This is how I see it. The 'lack' of announcements as you put it is not to do with nintendo. It is to do with it being a new system finding its feet. Go and look back at how bad ps3 and 360 were when they came out. If you think wii u has a lack of support you would have had your others gasping for air because they didn't get any truly notable third party support until after the first year. Bayonetta 2, monster hunter, dragon quest, lego city or 101 might not be on the scale gears of war is but I bet that I like most of them more then that. The only other big exclusives microsoft had that year was oblivion and dead rising. Not much to write home about.

For third parties themselves, I find it funny how Zelnick said that the gta dlc flopped because it was 'too late' but if gta were to flop on wii (and he doesn't know it would because he never tried) it would be nintendo's fault. Frankly I would have seen ports of gta iii, vice city or san andreas as financially viable as gta iv on the other systems because wii isn't exactly expensive to port to is it?

People like him have my sympathy. Not because I'm spiteful towards him but because those big western companies are only going to set themselves up for failure next gen.

Lets say bioware and gearbox decided to jump ship because the games 'flopped'. Even though in mass effect's case we all know why, they jumped off far too early to be able to see their games sell more in the long run of things so they have pretty much shot themselves in the foot. The games would sell more as the system sells more. Maybe they wouldn't sell on the scale of the others but who cares as long as they get money back? The big question is what would they abandon wii u for? Just because they don't see the types of figures nintendo see on their software? Thats fine but you need to look at the risk you are taking by making such a move.

You are abandoning a console where more people would buy your game for the sake of developing for a system where you are required to sell 20 million copies to break even? Good luck with that. At least if you sink you can't blame nintendo. Thanks for mass effect. I love it. I'll also probably enjoy aliens when I get around to it.

One more thing to complete my year = senran kagura localization =D
