According to many analysts, the King David Hotel bombing in Jerusalem in 1946 by Zionist terrorist group Irgun led by Moshe Sharett (who went on to become the second prime minister of Israel) is considered the first large-scale act of terrorism of the 20th century and is what inspired the methods of terrorists that came after them.
