It's win-win in my view, but it's back-fired on MS in the past. If MS can guarantee a certain level of quality and use that to leverage their brands like apple does, then maybe they'll pull it off. Or they can go the affordable route and make devices that are of a satisfying quality at a more affordable price. Either way I agree with you they will be a big player, and have finally joined the HW fray, it will help them leverage their software, which in turn will help propel their hardware.
