Ehm... you guys do know stock market operate on a short-term mind set driven by anticipation and expectation. Laying off employees will actually boost stock prices as that would lower operating cost.
I would say building selling is a neutral thing. Some would see it as desperation but some would see it as cashing in on expensive assets that provide no real value.. Like US selling its gold for example.
In any case, Analysts have been raving how good of a buy sony is. It is heavily discounted for the price per valuation and the depreciating yen signal a better than expected earning report.
