I highly doubt the Nextbox is going to be using a built in Mental Ray Live Rendering System - . - the power required to render live raytraced shadows would require power equivalent to that of the PS3 and Xbox 360's processing power -.-
As someone who is actually going to school to study Game Art and Design, the entirety of this rumor sounds incredibly stupid. I would suggest not even remotely believing this.
