As a long time fan of Metal Gear before it became Metal Gear Solid, who still enjoys the games, I think MGS is the best of the MGS games and Twin Snakes is the better version. MGS 3 is ok, but I don't consider it better than MGS 2. I like it, but MGS is my favorite.

My favourite is MGS too, and I am looking forwards to Rising. I just don't think it'll be able to hold a candle to the main series MGS games.

I don't think it needs to be or even wants to. It's a spin off. That's why they dropped "Solid" from the title. It shouldn't be judged against MGS games, it is only related to them. MGR is to MGS like Clone Wars is to Star Wars. It's part of the family, but It's its own thing.


Same universe, same timeline (a couple years after MGS4) same judgement. They said it wasnt cannon before and now it is.  If thats the case its not a spin off.
