I really don't think that numbers are that surprising. PS3 and X360 are ages old so of course they are dying. Vita is chasing the market that doesn't exists anymore. 3DS is doing relatively fine when you consider smartphone gaming boom and well Wii U actually has the same problem as Vita. New tablet controller didn't raise the interest of casuals like wiimote did and when it comes to graphics it hasn't shown yet anything that couldn't be done on old HD consoles so it doesn't appeal to hardcore audience either. Not to mention that generation transition phases are usually rather rough when it comes to sales (except for Wii and PS2). Market is going to decline next gen but only because Wii and DS hit all the right notes last gen and growth was rather unnatural.
